In April, 2011 the second session of The Distance Learning PING PONG Programme came to an end.
During 2010-2011 academic year, Hans Christian Oster and Magnus Appelquist, professors of J?nk?ping University, Barbara Lundin (Sweden), and Karsten Hummer of The Higher Pedagogical Seminary of Denmark have given both lectures and interactive lessons as a part of our distance learning programme. The programme involves four courses, such as Swedish Language and Literature, Religious Sects, Danish Language and Literature, and Self-sustainable Development. Over 40 students of the Department have taken this course .J?nk?ping University Distance Course Completion Certificates will be handed out at the end of the academic year.
Distance Learning Programme at J?nk?ping University, Sweden
In 2009, The Department of Humanities and J?nk?ping School of Education & Communication received a grant from The Nordic Council of Ministers as well as support of the Swedish Institute to bring into effect the idea of distance learning for those studying countries of Northern Europe. Distance learning is carried out through The Ping Pong Programme.
Students are offered education in three languages: English, Swedish and Danish. The courses are as follows:
* Sustainable Development (in English, includesthe study of social, economic, cultural and ecologic affairs of the region)
* Religions of modern Russia and Scandinavia (in English)
* Swedish Language and Literature (In Swedish)
* Danish Language and Literature (In Danish)
Lectures and Interactive lessons are given by Hans Christian Oster and Magnus Appelquist, professors of J?nk?ping University, and Karsten Hummer of The Higher Pedagogical Seminary of Denmark.
At the end of the course students write a test and have an interview with their tutor. According to test results they receive J?nk?ping University Distance Course Completion Certificates.
The participation in this programme is free.
